Title
Machine Capabilities at a Human Scale: Get to Know the Revolution Crossroads Initiative
Abstract
For the 2026 American Semiquincentennial year, the Library of Congress is working with the Smithsonian Institution to look at how artificial intelligence technologies can help make new discoveries about history. Dubbed “Revolution Crossroads,” the initiative aims to demonstrate what AI could do to enable new insights and explorations with collections. An introductory video from Inside Smithsonian Digital and the Library of Congress asks, “Can AI Help Historians?” It explains how leaders, curators, and technology experts are coming together to explore and explain AI’s capabilities to augment learning, research, and discovery.
